Carrie Underwood has been chosen to perform the National Anthem at the 2010 Super Bowl next week. Queen Latifah will also sing “America the Beautiful” before the Feb 7 game, and The Who will perform the halftime show.
Jennifer Hudson, also a American Idol star, sang the Star Spangled Banner at the 2009 Super Bowl.
The Indianapolis Colts will take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday February 7, 2010.
Elin Nordegren made her first visit to see husband Tiger Woods at a Hattiesburg, Mississippi treatment center for sex addiction.
Elin spent several days with her husband at the Gentle Path Center. They both want to save the marriage but Elin will make no decisions regarding divorce until Tiger completes his treatment.
All this goes back to the incident on November 27, 2009 when a suspicious Elin pretended to be Tiger and texted his number one mistress Rachel Uchtil. Rachel apparently text back while Tiger was asleep. Elin awoke Tiger and chased him out of the house where he climbed into his SUV and crashed into a tree just past the driveway.
An American Idol contestant was cut from competition after his father reported to the St Petersburg times that his son made it to the top 24. American Idol has very strict confidentiality agreements with contestants to keep results quiet until they are broadcast on the show. The contestant Michael Lynch was replaced in the top 24 over the weekend.
While having dinner monday night at a Los Angeles restaurant The Little Door, Tara Reid’s boyfriend, Michael Axtmann proposed to her. Tara, and Axtmann began dating last year. They are planning a small wedding for this summer. Tara was completely surprised and very happy.
Recently Reid posed for Playboy’s January-February issue. She also just finished shooting the thriller The Fields and the comedy Last Call.
Nobody is quite sure where Tiger Woods has been hiding out, however, the latest word is that he may have entered a sex and gambling rehab clinic in Arizona. Sources say shortly after the holidays Woods entered The Meadows, a clinic in Wickenburg, AZ. It is said that Woods may plan to spend around 4 to 5 weeks in treatment. He should be out around Valentine’s day.
Meanwhile in Florida, Tiger’s wife Elin has been seen traveling around with their two children Sam, 2 and Charlie, 11 months.
Fergie’s husband Josh Duhamel surprised her for their first wedding anniversary by planning a vow renewing ceremony outside Santa Barbara, California.
Fergie was totally surprised to be whisked away via private helicopter to the resort town. A limo took them to the luxe Bacara Resort and Spa about 20 minutes from Santa Barbara. The ceremony was fifteen minutes long and held on a bluff overlooking the ocean. It is reported that Fergie was “crying and very emotional.” The couple then had dinner at the resort’s Miro eatery.
Duhamel and Fergie have had a rocky first year of marriage. In November a stripper, Nicole Forrester, alleged that she had a affair with Duhamel. Both Fergie and Duhamel denied the allegations.
Megan Fox and on/off boyfriend Brian Austin Green have purchased a 2.9 million dollar home in the trendy neighborhood of Los Feliz. Green put the home they have shared for the past two years on the market just a few weeks ago.
The 75yr old home has four bedrooms, and a spa-like master bathroom.

Stars sure do bounce back quickly. Rihanna was spotted vacationing with her new beau, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, in Los Cabos Mexico. The two were spotted cuddling and getting friendly in Los Cabos.
Less than a year ago Rihanna was attacked, by her then boyfriend Chris Brown, after a pre-Grammy party. Since Chris Brown has been ordered to serve five years probation and to stay away from Rihanna.
Mariah Carey was honored for her “breakthrough” performance as a social worker in the movie “Precious” at the Palm Springs Film Festival.
Carey and director Lee Daniels made their way to the podium together where a seemingly dreary Carey began her speech with “I have to say…this is and please forgive me for I am…at which point several people in the audience yell out “drunk” to which Carey replies “yes”. Carey seemed to be enjoying herself at the film festival, and these are the things that make award shows like this worth watching.
Rumor has it that Jay-Z appeared rather unhappy during his private new years eve party on the Island Of St. Bartz. It is being reported that he actually left their private party when his wife Beyonce and her former flame, newly single Usher, started to get a little too friendly. Apparently the pissed off jay-z had words with Usher before leaving the New Year’s bash.
Beyonce was performing for the stars on a boat at the New Years Eve party. Jay-z was along to spend the holiday with his wife. The couple was married in April 2008.
